Established as the Women's Pedagogical Institute of Kyrgyzstan with a focus on teacher training for women.

Following Kyrgyzstan's independence, the institute was granted university status and renamed the University of Women, Kyrgyzstan.

Dr. Kasymalieva brings over 25 years of experience in higher education and women's advocacy. She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Oxford University and has published extensively on women's education in Central Asia.
Dr. Moldobaeva oversees all academic programs and faculty at UWK. She is a distinguished scholar in international relations with a commitment to innovative teaching methodologies.
Dr. Asankulova leads the university's strategic planning and institutional development. With a background in economics and public policy, she has strengthened UWK's financial foundation and global partnerships.
The University of Women, Kyrgyzstan is governed by a dedicated Board of Trustees comprising distinguished leaders from academia, business, government, and civil society. The board provides strategic direction and oversight to advance the university's mission and ensure its long-term sustainability.

The university is approximately 30 km from the airport. Taxis and shuttle services are available at the arrival terminal.
Travel time: 40-60 minutes depending on traffic
Bus routes 5, 12, and 19 stop near the university campus. The nearest bus stop is "Togolok Moldo/University Street," just a 2-minute walk from the main entrance.
Frequency: Every 10-15 minutes during weekdays
Visitor parking is available on the north side of campus with entrance from Togolok Moldo Street. The parking area is open from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily.
